Description:
A group of extinct marine arthropods similar to crabs. For support and protection, the soft parts of the animal were covered by an exoskeleton which cover the animal’s back.
The exoskeleton is divided to three parts:-
(1) Cephalon (head shield)
(2) Thorax (middle section)
(3) Pygidium (tail shield)
Trilobites can enroll themselves into a ball for protection.
Live during Cambrian Period and Extinct in the end of Permian Period which age around 300 to 542 million years ago.
